Is Your Penis Size
Average? What Is The Average Adult Size Penis?
Find out facts about
penises. What is the average size? Can you increase the penis size? What
size does a woman desire? Does Penis Size Matter?
This is a question we get from men more than the ladies.
So here is the answer.
AVERAGE SIZE OF PENIS? Well
we have the answer to this question below.
Penis Size -- Is
Determined by Genetic Traits.
The size
of your penis is simply determined by factors, called genetic traits, which
you inherited from your parents. Also where you live also has some
contributing factor but not as much as genetic traits. There is nothing you
can do to increase or decrease the size of your penis. The
information here is based on studies conducted in the USA.
QUESTION: What's the average size of
penises?
I'm worried that mine isn't big enough.
ANSWER: You're not alone in your concern.
Your question is the single most frequent question asked by readers of Human
Sexuality.
What Researchers Say
According to tabulations of Alfred Kinsey's measurements of 2500 American
men's erect penises, almost 90 percent are within an inch of the average
six-inch erection. Yes there are some large penises out there, but according to most
women length is not as important as thickness when it comes to intercourse.
For oral sex, thickness can be a draw back. So there is no such thing as a
perfect penis size.
In the study of Human Sexuality it was found that the adult male,
the observable part of the average penis is from 2.5 to 4 inches long when
flaccid (limp, soft), slightly over 1 inch in diameter, and about 3.5 inches
in circumference.
When erect, they say, "the average penis extends 5.25 to 6.5 inches in
length, and becomes 1.5 inches in diameter and about 4.5 inches in
circumference."
He says that 90% of the erect penis is usually between five and seven
inches long with a diameter of 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches. Penis size is not
related to body shape, height, length of fingers, length of nose, or
anything else. In family members it can vary substantially too.
However, if you are overweight it will look shorter due the fat in the
pubic area. For every 20 pounds overweight, it will look on the average an inch
shorter.
Great Variation
Researchers emphasize that there is a great variation in the size of normal
penises.
"The measurement of a perfectly functioning erect penis can vary from 4
inches in one man to 10 inches in another, with one no less capable of
coital performance than the other according to the study. The
reason for this is most of the sex take place in the brain and not down
there. If a woman is turned on she will have an orgasm even with
the smaller penis.
The size of a man's erection is not related to his ability to please a
partner or to enjoy sex himself. "Continually thinking about penis size and
its adequacy can in fact get in the way of giving and receiving pleasure.
Men who think theirs are too small to please a woman might get that results
because of their action and not the size.
Small Limp Penis Grows More Percentage wise.
Investigators find that there is little relationship between the size of a
penis in its flaccid state, and the size it will be when erect. A penis that
is small in its flaccid state, says the study can show a remarkable change
in size as it erects. By contrast, a large flaccid penis often changes very
little in length or thickness as it becomes erect.
Why The Concern With Size?
Why are men so concerned with the size of their penises?
It does not take much imagination to understand why penis size often takes
on great importance. As a society, we tend to be overly impressed with
size and quantity. We have the tendency to think the bigger the size, the
better it is. Men tend to assume that the bigger the penis, the
better. They mistakenly equate greater penis size with greater masculinity
or ability to make the women come.
Self-Fulfilling Prophecy
"The result of all this attention to penis size is that men often come to
view it as an important attribute in defining their masculinity or worth as
a lover. Again just like the woman most of the man's pleasure is in his brain
and not in the penis. In fact, most of the pleasure comes from the first
few inches of the penis. The reason the man pushes in deep while ejaculating
is that they want the head of the penis to hit the woman's mouth or vagina. If a man is 4" in length
or longer, he can do just
that.
What Do Women Think?
How important is penis size to a woman's sexual pleasure?
Some women do indeed express a preference for a large penis. Those
who express such preference in penis size indicated a thicker one is better
than a longer one for intercourse. But the women who have a larger
number of sexual partners have indicated that any size works for them if the man is
just as excited as she is.
One woman reported, "You asked if size was important to my pleasure. Yes,
but not in the way you might imagine. If a man is quite large, I worry what
he might want to try sexually. I have had men who wanted anal sex who were
just too large. Actually, I prefer that he be average in length
and maybe a thicker one for intercourse but over all an average size is the
best."
In other research, 75 percent of women surveyed by Forum magazine stated
that penis size did not affect their relationships with their partners.
But a study done with women getting a divorce, 70% indicated their new
sexual partner was bigger than their spouse and were better lovers. But
30% reported their new lovers were small and they enjoyed the sex much more.
There is some correlation in size but how much it is hard to say. When
you look at an old partner, compared to a new,
"A man's character is far more important than his penis size," said one.
Over half the women surveyed said that a medium-size penis was preferable to
a large or small one.
Another researcher reports that men believe that penis size is a matter of
special importance to women.
But women tend to report that other physical attributes -- such as a man's
legs or buttocks -- are more attractive to them.
Does ethnicity effect sizes of Penis?
Yes it does.
